The story of our house

As many of you know, we have been actively looking for a house for about 9 months. We found several places we liked, but one of us was always hesitant about something, whether it was the price, size, location, or whatever. We had been keeping our eye on some new housing, but we were hoping the price would come down a little bit. One day (I think it may have been Monday evening), I was randomly looking on-line and found a place that may be in our budget This was a different builder than the ones we had been looking at before. I showed Mark and he agreed we should check it out. My parents were here for Hope's birthday and we were headed in that general direction on Tuesday, so we decided that we would stop and check it out and see if it was worth taking Mark back to. We looked at everything and determined that we had a few concerns since there was no backyard, but it may work. We prayed about it that night and asked God to make it abundantly clear if this is what he wanted for us. So Mark took off early on Wednesday, and we went to look at them again. And it was sold! We thought that was pretty abundantly clear!! We were kinda bummed, but thought maybe a future phase would work. On a random whim, we decided to look at another community across the street, but by the same builder. We had looked them up on-line and it said they were about $40, 000 more, which was pretty far out of our price range. We really liked them since they had some yard, a driveway, etc. We were talking to the guy about what was available and he mentioned that he had one that they hadn't released, but he could still sell. He told us the price and it was only $7,000 more than the other one and it had lower homeowner fees and taxes. It actually costs less per month than the one we were originally considering- and we like it better! Plus, they were giving us money to use towards upgrades. We prayed it that night and called first thing on Thursday morning and asked if they would hold it for us. Mark and I both felt good about it. It is only about 30 minutes from his work (we had looked at some that were at least 45 minutes), it is in a very good school district, and well, it's new. It's in Chino. We went to the design center and started picking out some things last week (like the the cabinets, some electrical options, etc). We have a few more visits there and then we just have to wait until March when it will be ready! God is so good! Here is a picture of our concrete slab!
