We made it home!

So after a stressful trip, we made it home! I learned if your flight out is delayed 4 hours, just stay home. At least we knew about the delay before we went to the airport, but it made for a really long day. We didn't end up getting back to my parent's house until like 2 am. And we were supposed to leave for Michigan by like 9:30. Stupid me scheduled a haircut for 8:30 that morning. So, of course, we left late for Michigan, which made us arrive late. They then informed us that we were grilling the food for the rehearsal dinner, which was at a park and we had to leave in 10 minutes. I hadn't really planned on going to a park so I hadn't packed Hope "park clothes". I packed her nice stuff. And we were reserving a spot so we were getting there like 2 hours before the wedding party. It' s pretty hard to keep an 11 month old entertained for very long ANYWHERE. Weddings are just stressful in general so things were pretty crazy the entire time we were there. Plus, Hope had a difficult time adjusting to the 3 hour time change, the freezing coldness of thier house, and a few other things, so she screamed for several hours both nights we were at his parent's place. Then we were driving to Essenhaus to meet my parents for a midafternoon meal. Hope decided to scream at the top of her lungs for the last hour and a half of the car ride. She's never really done that so I don't know what was going on. And if you recall, it was freezing cold on Saturday, and we didn't plan on cold weather so we didn't pack for it. No major catastophes on Sunday, except the guys didn't get to go golfing because of the rain. So Monday, we went to get Hope's one year pictures, except Hope didn't really cooperate. Then we went to see my mom at school. We were going to Kelsey's for dinner on Monday and we all pile into my mom's car and it decided it didn't want to start. So we had to scramble for a ride for my mom to and from school on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday, my dad got home from work shortly after going because he was sick. He was bleeding from his innards. So he and Mark took my mom's car in then made and emergency trip to the doctor, who sent him to the emergency room. Except with him in the emergency room, we had no way to get the the airport because my mom is scared to death to drive the van home from O'Hare. Luckily, I was hanging out with Sam and she volunteered to ride up there with us while Mark drove, then drive my mom home. So we were in the airport and I got in a big fight with the security guy because they said I couldn't take the water I had to mix Hope some formula, even though you are allowed to have it and I have had it the other 3 times we have flown since that rule took effect. After several people and a few tears, they finally let me take it. The flight home was uneventful, thankfully.
All in all, it really was a good trip, even though it was hectic. I really love visiting with family and friends and wish we could have stayed longer.

Sounds like crazy times. How is your Dad doing? Any News? Glad you were able to make it to the airport. I can't wait to see Hope's pictures. I just checked and they were posted yet :(

I just found out that the colonoscopy showed no active bleeding, but they found where it had been. Now he just has to get his blood count up before they let him out of the hospital. A male's blood count is supposed to be 14 and his was 7.1 on Tues. After they gave him 2 units of blood, it was only like 7.8 yesterday. So they gave him more blood. I think they want it about 10 before he goes home.

I will be praying for him. That's tough. And you are so far away.
By the way how is Sam doing?
